Founded in 1927 by Oliver "Lafe" Parks, SLU's Parks College was America's first federally certified school of aviation. Today, Parks has a worldwide reputation for our aviation and aerospace engineering programs. Seventeen programs and schools in Washington University were ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report 2001. The School of Medicine ranked number 4 in the nation while Physical Therapy is ranked number 1. The university houses Edison Theater and Washington University Gallery of Art. Webster University houses the School of Business and Technology, the College of Fine Arts, the School of Education and the College of Arts and Sciences.
